Spoke

Not your typical drum machine!

  1. The colored discs represent individual drum sounds that you can drag onto the cicrcular platter.
  2. Position sound discs around the platter, as on a turntable. Discs close to the center will be quiet, while sounds on the perimiter will be loud.
  3. Drag sounds off the platter to erase them. Shake the phone to clear the platter.
  4. Use the arrow buttons near the bottom to switch into SAVE, SWAP, or LOAD mode. Then click one of the circular slots to perform the action. You can use these slots to save your compositions. They will still be there next time you open the app.
  5. The default tempo is 120 bpm. Tap the center four times in a row to set a new tempo, anywhere from 60 to 240 bpm.

  1. will spoke make it to the iPad?

  2. will spoke have an update to import your own sounds. the sounds on spoke are good, but would be much bigger if you had your own that you could put in

Hi, just tested again with the original iPad running iOS 4.3, and Spoke works great. Have you tried a reboot? Spoke doesn’t use much RAM, but occasionally a reboot may help an app. Does it not launch at all?

This is a really fun app, and kids love it too. Would be great to see expanded capability like loading custom samples, all the 808 sounds, etc. Thanks for the fun.

Glad you dig it. I know what you mean about the sounds.. it’s been in the priority queue forever, but still hasn’t percolated to the top.
