Slice hates your iPod Touch, presently

It seems a recent OS upgrade changes AudioSession behavior on the iPod Touch, making Slice grumpy and silent. This is most ill-timed, and we apologize. A fix is in the works!

UPDATE: the iPod-loving version 1.1 has been submitted to Apple on Nov. 9, and should be available within a couple of weeks!

In the meantime, Slice will reportedly work on your iPod if a headset with a microphone is plugged in.

  1. Thanks. I am looking forward to getting sound out of it.

Strange, indeed. I actually had it working on my touch once, but no longer!

Oh, and you probably know this, but you can submit “emergency updates” which (usually) have a quicker update time. Just fyi.

    Loving yer apps!

Thanks for the “emergency update” hint! And yes, the issue had to do with detecting a microphone upon initiating audio, hence the strangeness :)

Update: if you start the app with phones/mic (e.g., Switcheasy’s “ThumbTack”), and then unplug it, everything works just fine through the speaker!

See, I said it was strange!

The update is out! Slice is working on the touch :)

How do we get loops from the web though?

hey, got Slice workin on my touch today, great stuff. but i’ve found when importing samples, if you try + upload a mono sample, Slice will play it twice the speed, over just half of the circle. stereo wavs work fine.

also trying to load an mp3 either crashes it or causes much horrible noise.

    other than that, loving it.
