In desperate love with our iPads, we left the iPhone apps languishing unmaintained. They don’t copy or paste, they don’t play well with others, they’re all still rocking 3G. Yet, they still tweak sounds quite strangely, and so gentle(ladies and)men, we will rebuild them!
This holiday season we’re cooking up a whole new series of strange toys for the iPhone, and when we launch in the months to come, the current crop will have to go. As of today, the free sample versions of our paid iPhone apps have been axed.
How can you get some strange samples, you ask? We’ve made the paid apps free!

Hello, I had some ideas for improvements to Donut, which I think is an amazing app.
1) The addition of a 3ed bank of heads, erase heads. Same as the record and play heads. It could also have an on/off button for movement and an erase button. If the movement button is on and the erase button is off, then heads move but nothing gets erased. If erase button is on and movement button is off, then heads stay put and no erasing occurs. This give you greater ability to chose where to remove information. You could omit the movement button. The heads could be yellow.
2) Improve the joystick controls with full range of motion, cross hair in the center, and a circle where the point is located, that stays lit up. I suppose a 3ed joystick could be added for the erase heads, but that might not be necessary. Maybe the location doesn’t jump as it does now.
3) Landscape layout would be nice. I use an I/O dock.
A question: how long is a loop at what BPM (120)?
Thankx, keep up the good work
Definitely a cool idea with the erase heads. I’ll add it to the list.
I agree, the joystick control might be to subtle right now. It’s nice to hide them to keep the UI clean, but that does make the motion info a little more obscure.
Landscape would probably require quite the UI overhaul. One day?
If memory serves, the loop is 4 seconds at 120.
consider adding video mirroring support? the interfaces are so great, would love to be able to share them with an audience during performance… keep ‘em coming…
thx, ws
